Creamy Tomato Soup Recipe


This soup is good with so many toppings, cheese, tortilla chips, and goldfish crackers.


Ingredients:

5 Tbsp. Butter

1/2 Cup Onion, chopped

4 Tbsp. Flour

4 Cups Milk

1/2 Bay Leaf

1 1/2 tsp. Sugar

1 1/2 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. Baking Soda

3 Cups Tomatoes, chopped


Directions:

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.  Add the onion and let it cook until it’s soft, but not browned.  Sprinkle the flour over the onion mixture, and stir for another 2 minutes.  Slowly add the milk, sugar, bay leaf, and salt, stir until it’s slightly thickened.


Stir the baking soda into the tomatoes, and then add the tomatoes to the milk, just until it simmers.  Remove from the heat, and put through a strainer.
